PayPal Funds in My Visa Electron Within 5 Days
Woohooo! PayPal didn’t rob me. I see my PayPal funds in my Visa Electron statement! The withdrawal process took less than 5 days. I withdrew on 2nd October around 9.44PM and the transaction appears last night. See the second record below dated 6 October 2007? Exchanging USD 100 for RM 336.90 is not bad at this time right? Good thing the Ringgit weakened against the US dollar that day.
It took 2 days for PayPal to update the status below from “Pending” to “Completed” and another 3 days before I receive the funds.
To avoid cash advance fees, I suggest you get a Visa debit card like Visa Electron if you want to cash out at the ATM machines. As for Public Bank’s Visa Electron, cash withdrawal is free of charge at their ATM. You can check the rates here (scroll to the bottom).
Hi there. Are you a PayPal verified member? I read that we must be verified before we can withdraw funds to our credit/debit cards. I am still waiting for my statement so that I can verify my account. If we don’t have to, I can try withdrawing now.

Yes! Very good news! I’ll get that card sometime this week and start using it with PayPal next month. I read somewhere in eBay Malaysia that we need to have some normal transactions done before using it with PayPal, otherwise PayPal will limit the account and query us.
But gosh, USD 1 = RM 3.369 is awfully low. Mine was at RM 3.41.

hi Wilson. thank you for dropping by. Good to know if you have applied for Visa Electron. The rates published by XE.com may be different from the rate of Visa and MasterCard. You can sell off your PayPal funds to interested parties at your agreed rate. There are others who prefer to absorb the PayPal fees when they receive the funds from you than being given less USD when paying using their credit card in their PayPal account.

I got my Standard Chartered Visa Electron Debit cart. and i tried to add this cart to my paypal account to widdraw my money to this debit cart.
But unfortunatelly, I was not able to add this card to my account. when i try, paypal give me this messege:
“This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer’s customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.”
I do not know why? i called Standard Chartered but also can not get right answare.
Any one advise me that, is there any different betwen PB Visa Electron and Stadanrd Charterd’s? should i got PB visa electron in this case?

Hi Udun. You are unable to add your Visa Electron since your Standard Chartered bank does not allow withdrawal yet. That is what exactly PayPal says in that message. You may have to wait or get another Visa Electron with Public Bank or Al-Rajhi.

recently i had received the new public bank visa electron debit card. I wonder why am I not anle to add this card into my paypal account. Is anyone of you have idea to solve it? Thank you.
Hi Lemon. Thank you for your question. First, your card must have a balance of RM 25 to use and has been activated for use by Public Bank.
After adding the card to your PayPal account, enroll yourself in the Expanded Use Program to verify your card. You will need another extra USD 1.95 (about RM 6.63) in your account to do this. More info here: http://kb.neowave.com.my/?View=entry&EntryID=36
Alternatively, you can contact PayPal for assistance by clicking on the “Contact Us” link after signing into your account.
i ve the same prob wit lemon and i have a balance of rm25 in my account. I did enter the same address as my statement address sigh…still unable to add my debit card.
I just opened a savings-i account with Al Radjhi today. Received my Visa debit card on the spot. So the moment i got home, i fired up paypal and added a new card… it was successful. Then i made this card my primary. But when i wanted to “Get Verified”, meaning that will make PayPal charge me $1.95 USD… it FAILED!
I called the Helpline at the back of my card: 1300 82 6000. They say that they are aware of the matter and working on it. Asked when will the resolve it… “We dont know exactly when”.
So does this confirms:
1) You can withdraw to Al Rajhi Visa from PayPal
2) Can make payments with PayPal to other vendors.. but
3) Can’t verify your card with PayPal
Can anyone confirm all of this please…

1. I doubt you will be able to withdraw to an unverified card as PayPal are strict in fraud patterns. However, you can try to withdraw and let us know.
2. You can make payments with PayPal to other vendors provided you have enough funds in a particular funding source (PayPal funds/credit card/bank account). It will not be a problem.
3. A number of Malaysians have successfully verify their Al-Rajhi Visa Debit cards.
After I bank-in RM25 to my account, how can I activate it? I thought the savings activate it automatically?

Malcolm: Just add the card to your PayPal account. After adding your card, enroll in the Expanded Use Program where by USD 1.95 will be transferred from your card to your PayPal account. Therefore you will need more than RM 25 in your card. Just add another RM - 7 to RM 10 to your card for this purpose. Your balance in the card must not be less than RM 25 at all times.

i had bank-in RM 30 in the PB Visa debit card at the first time to activate the card but i still couldn’t verify the paypal.. this is what i get

i could add the debit card into the paypal but could not verify what happen?

malcolm: hi EliteVillain. You will always need to maintain a balance of RM 25 in your card. To verify your card you need another USD 1.95 which is about RM 6.80 more. That is most likely the reason your verification failed.

And that the buyer needs to have an import licence in order to claim the goods? Hi Alice. First and foremost, I am not an expert in matter of eBay. As far as I know, small scale businesses do not require such licenses. Just declare the items your are shipping to the shipping or courier company will suffice. The courier company will take care of the tax administration.

1. The PB card application form requires to fill both the “NRIC name” and “name to appear on card”. If, for example, my NRIC name is “Lee Tze Ling” and name to appear on card is “Amy Lee”, then on the paypal registration form, is it correct for me to enter first and last name as Amy Lee respectively?
2. If my card is successfully linked and confirmed by paypal (verified), does this mean there would be absolutely no problem for me to withdraw funds from my paypal account into the debit card account or vice-versa (add funds from my card)?

1.
When you register for a PayPal account, use your name in your NRIC. For example if your name on the NRIC is “Lee Tze Ling”, enter “Lee” as your first name and “Tze Ling” as your last name. For names with “bin”, “binti”, “a/l” and “anak”, the name behind “bin”, “binti”, “a/l” and “anak” will be “last name”.
For example, Ali bin Ahmad. His first name is Ali and last name is “bin Ahmad”. Thus, it will be displayed as “Ali bin Ahmad” in PayPal
If you enter “Tze Ling” as your first name, and “Lee” as your last name according to US “convention”, you may have problems with PayPal to prove you are the owner of your PayPal account should PayPal freezes your account.
Ultimately you want the name in the PayPal system displayed as “Lee Tze Ling” and not “Tze Ling Lee” which does not match your NRIC. Avoid confusing PayPal.
2. Withdrawal of funds depends on your card issuing bank. If your bank allows your Visa card for PayPal funds withdrawal, then there shouldn’t be any problem. For funding payments, just make sure your PayPal account has enough funds. For example, you can’t spend anymore with a Public Bank Visa Electron if you are only left with RM 25 as Public Bank requires you to have that amount of deposit.

If you have that amount, I suggest you sell to those who needs USD. There are Malaysians who are willing to buy PayPal funds (mainly in USD) and they can credit funds to your Malaysian bank accounts.
I’ve Paypall account and the problem is
my first name and last name is switch
for example:
my Name is Rizal Tukiman in my NRIC
so when I sign up paypal last 2 years I put Tukiman as my first name and Rizal as my last name
so Is that giving me a problem when i want to add my debit card because my debit card printed name is Rizal Tukiman and inside paypal is Tukiman Rizal.

There won’t be any problem of adding cards to your PayPal accounts even if the names are not yours. There is probably some other reason why you are not able to add the card to your PayPal account such as your issuing bank disallow Internet transactions for the card.

I need to ask ask a silly question.
1) U have mentioned that when applying for pay pal account- name to be filled in as in our NRIC. Example Lim Me Hua, So first name is Lim & Last name Mei Hua. Does that mean i just leave the middle name blank?
2) I am now waiting for my PB debit card to arrive so when it does, let me some facts straight:
a)When i get my debit card with the PIN number..I need to activate it first & top up to a total of at least RM35 for the Expanded Use Programme to activate with my Pay pal. Will I still need to register for online banking?

Yes thats same happened to me. Huh.. Then I tried to recharge more money to my card via pbb online but unfortunely can’t access payment/recharge. So,I emailed to pbb & waiting for their respond. If I can access payment/recharge then I’ll try to add card in paypal.
